Overview
“One thing that is true on a national level is that women entrepreneurs are not asking for what they need to get their businesses to where they want them to be, we want to help provide women the tools to make the “Ask”.” WEC had launched an 18 month campaign called “Ask & Answer”. “Ask” is the focus for 2009. WEC will work with Affiliate Organizations across the country to provide training, teaching women three key components of making the right “ask”: how to identify what they need to be asking for, who to make the ask from, and how to be comfortable asking that person for the close.

A monthly online training seminar will be available online that includes a prominent Canadian woman giving a short presentation on a ‘big ask’ that she made in her life providing tangible experience and motivation that this “Ask” is possible. These inspirational stories will be followed by expert panelists who will be available for women’s questions on how to practically implement whatever the theme of the Ask presentation was.

As well, WEC will be granting sponsorship dollars to 10 of the organization’s Affiliate Organizations throughout 2009 and in addition to the funds being distributed, WEC will participate in each of the 10 events by delivering a 60 minutes presentation teaching women how to make big Asks.

Throughout 2009 the focus will be on WEC Asking real women entrepreneurs what they need from the world around them. Share your opinion here: (go to poll)

The “Ask” campaign will culminate with a comprehensive list of the needs of women entrepreneurs across Canada and move into forming a movement of on a mission to get the “Answers” in 2010.
